Emmanuel Trousse, born in Monaco in 1984, studied General Arts at the Villa Thiole in Nice (France). In 2003, he moved to Barcelona (Spain) to pursue photography studies at the Institut d'Estudis Fotografics de Catalunya. After graduating in 2006, he attended a one-year film making course at the New York Film Academy to develop his skills within the visual language. Since then, he has been living and working freelance in the US and in Europe, both in photography and cinema, as an assistant for various photographers, among them Donna Ferrato, and as a teacher’s and director's assistant for the NYFA. In June 2008, he shot and co-edited an intimate memorial film for Magnum photographer "Philip Jones Griffiths", collaborating with Donna Ferrato, PJG Foundation, and Magnum Photos agency. The film was screened at the Aperture Gallery in New York on the night of his memorial.
"JUKKA" is his directorial debut.
